About

This is a site about some of the things I do… like academic research and political activism.

I’m currently a Postdoc researcher working on the ERC Consolidator project,’Digital Crossings in Europe: Gender, Diaspora and Belonging,’ based at the Media and Culture Studies Department of the Humanities Faculty of Utrecht University.

I received my PhD from the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam on migration and digital media in 2015. The research was an ethnographic study of the use of Web media applications among second-generation Iranian Americans in Los Angeles.

I’m also a feminist, union activist, and a lover of Iranian food.
